Aims
- Provide an Elite Player Pathway for Garville and Regional identified players.
- Three Talent Identification Squads are chosen in total: The Great Grey’s TID Squad (18-22 years), The Big Red’s TID Squad (13-17 years) & The Joey’s TID Squad (9-12 years)
- Players are chosen from our Club targeted at all Club and regional levels from Primaries to Senior levels.
- The Great Grey’s identified Players will train on a DTE (Daily Training Environment) program under supervision from the Club Coaching Director, Michelle den Dekker OAM & Premier League Coach, Jackie Blyth.
The Big Red’s identified Players will train on a modified DTE with Monthly Specialist training sessions with Club coaching Director, Michelle den Dekker and/or adesignated Coach with a Minimum Advanced Accreditation and/or Australian/ANZ playing experience.
- The Joey’s TIS Squad will train once monthly with the TID Junior Coach Jenny Borlase OAM and be mentored by Premier League players, the Garville Coaching Director, Michelle den Dekker and the Premier League Coach, Jackie Blyth.
- Players attend TID Training sessions once monthly from September to February each year and will be exposed to: Building Confidence, Skills, Balance, and Strength with the inclusion of a strength & Conditioning Coach, Dietician, Physiotherapist.
- Aim to help nurture the transition for young players to grow and learn from past players, invitational current Premier League Players and coaches whilst off season and not over trained.
- Observe trainings and supply feedback to all TIS Squad players to initiate improvement & build communication between coach and young players.
- Incorporate Mentors for these TIS players to watch, learn and communicate with.
- Support and communicate with all TID players via email and phone assisting in off season training & Modified Daily Training Environment.
Selection Policies and Procedures
Objectives
- To select three squads from the players in Garville at Primary 1/2, Sub-Junior 1/2, Junior 1/2, Intermediate 1/2, Under 22 Reserves & Premier League Levels who have demonstrated the levels of competencies required for the Talent Identification Squad Program.
Selection Policy
- The Garville Great Greys’ Talent Identification Squad will comprise of up to 8 players, with the scope to invite 3 regional Academy Players from Hills/Mid Hills Region and existing Yorke Peninsula identified Players from previous year.
- The Big Red’s Talent Identification Squad will comprise of up to 20 players from Intermediate 1/2 & Junior 1/2 Grades, plus 5 additional invitational players from Hills/Mid Hills Region and existing Yorke Peninsula identified Players from previous year.
- The Joey’s Talent Identification Squad will comprise of up to 15 players from selected Primary 1/2 & Sub-Junior 1/2 Grades plus an optional 3 additional players from Hills/Mid Hills Region and existing Yorke Peninsula identified Players from previous year.
- TID Selection Panel comprises of the Garville Coaching Director, Premier League Coach, Reserves Coach, Intermediate 1 Coach and Junior 1 Coach.
Selection Procedure
- The selection process for the Great Greys is based on a ‘rolling’ process beginning after the Intermediate & AMND competition starts, taking in their on court performances, their pre-season commitment with the Premier League Squad and is finalised by their selection into the Premier League or Reserves for the following year.
- The Great Grey’s Squad will be announced in April each year.
- The selection process for the Big Reds & Joey’s TID Squads encompasses the period from September to January each calendar year.
- The TID Selection Panel will observe games and player performances during AMND Winter seasons and regional Academy games and trainings.
- The Team will be announced and informed by letter of their selection before September 10th, by the “Garville Netball Club”.
